Day four of the monster living in my head....I have what is known as cluster migraines. I'm not sure what the statistics are but it is not supposed to be very common to get clusters, wouldnt' you know that I am lucky enough to be one of the chosen few. Thankfully the pain is ebbing and I may be reaching the end of this one.
My awesome husband gave me the best surprise Thursday afternoon!!!! I was watching the 5 o'clock news and playing with Lillianne when there was a knock on the front door. I open the door and Kurt is standing there with a grin on his face, he never comes to the front door and he has a key, I knew something was up. I look behind him and his Dad is there, too and they have both pulled their trucks up to the front of the house. Sitting in the back of their trucks was new living room furniture!! (Click on living room furniture to see a picture!!) Kurt has kept this a secret for over two weeks and completely surprised me for my birthday, it is a month away but I like early presents, especially presents like this!!! While I am excited about the furniture, I am equally excited to think how much thought and planning he put into this to make me happy, because he loves me! I love you Kurtis, you are an awesome husband and Daddy!!!!
Morgan went to a birthday party last night for two of her friends. There were over 50 boys and girls at the party and Morgan said it went off without a single argument or problem. This gives me hope b/c she wants to have a similar party this September for her 13th birthday. It seems just like yesterday that Mom threw a big blow out party for me on my 13th. It was a much anticipated boy/girl party, months of careful planning went into orchestrating the festivities. We had an old juke box out of Grandpa's old store, chinese latterns and tiki torches to adorn the yard and tons of other goodies. I spent it in a body cast........ I had to take a horseback ride from hell a month and a half before my birthday and while my friends danced the night away, I cried in the corner watching my "crush" dance with someone else. Oh well, I'll live vicariously thru Morgan and we'll have one heck of a 13th birthday party.
I went to a garage sale yesterday...I never garage sale, never really have the time but there was an ad in the paper advertising a free standing basketball goal. The kids want one and I thought that before I bought one at Walmart, I would go check this one out. There is something a little voyueristic about garage sales... a little peek into the lives of strangers, it can be frightening. The goal was gone but I came away with a new book to read. Morgan and I have read the book "A Child Called It" and the follow up book about a man named David Pelzer who was seriously and violently abused by his mother. I found the third book in his story, bought it and read the entire thing last night. What a sad and painful story it is but it is also a story of amazing strength and determination. Warning: The story will shock you and break your heart, it is one that will stay with you.
I'm going to spend the day swimming with my kids and doing laundry.....Have a great weekend, internet!

Glad you are starting to feel a bit better! Show some pics of the new living room set up when you can! I went some garage sales this morning but it was a bust... nothing good at all. Oh well. Looking forward to you answers...
I have been wanting to read that series of books. I cannot bring myself to look for them at the library though because I dont know if I want to cry my way through them. Hope your migranes go away soon!
I read the first one, it was so sad. It's hard to imagine a mother that could do that to her child. It's even harder now that I am a mother.
I wanted to read those books, but never really got around to it. I hope the migranes go away soon!
The birthday party sounds like a blast. I'm in the process of planning one myself. So much planning to do!
