Oh Bubby, how have you grown up so quickly? I can still remember how I felt when they placed you in my arms nine years ago, still hear your little cry and feel your baby soft skin. Nine years ago, how is that possible? At 8:24 am on June 19, 1996 you blessed my life and the blessing has grown with each year.
You amaze me with your intelligence and humble me with your compassion and faith, my job is to teach you and to help you grow but in knowing you and loving you, being your Mommy....I am learning and growing as well.
Today I watched you as you opened your gifts and blew out your candles, before me was a nine year old boy, no longer a trace of the baby that I held, the toddler that I chased or the kindergartner I tearfully had to entrust into the hands of someone else. I am so proud of the boy that you are and excited about the man that I see you will one day become. God chose me to be your Mommy, how could I get so lucky?!! I love you more than you can ever imagine Layne Michael.......Happy Birthday sweet boy!
