I recieved this in an e-mail forward a few minutes ago and had to share. Really who are the Joneses and why does anyone care? LOL
The loss in our nation due to Hurricane Katrina really should make us take a step back as American's and value the priceless things in our lives, such as our family and friends. The things that money can't buy, because as evidenced, all of those "signs of success" can be taken away in an instant. They are replaceable but the things that are of most value, can not. My heart breaks every time they show the children that still have not found their families.
I'm including a link below the forward, in case you haven't made a donation to help out the Hurricane relief, I encourage you to do so.

Donate to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. It's easy to forget since time is passing and the news coverage is not so intense, but I heard today that there are still those that are without shelter and the basics.

Hey Dottie! I love this blog entry. Honestly, I am as guilty as anyone of getting things out of perspective, but recent events have changed that. Looking at the Hurricane victims in our local shelters is a HUGE reality check. I also started going to a church that I honestly looked at as the "poor church" in town for a long time. But I love it there. These people have it all figured out (or at least better than I do. They aren't very wealthy people, but they are so awesome that it makes me forget about things I have, don't have, need, want, etc.
Sorry so long, I guess I had alot to say after not being here lately!
Hope the new business is doing great!!
OMG, my friend Anona is famous. That's her on your list!! I'll have to tell her, she'll get a swelled head, lol.
Laina: That is awesome that your friend is on the list!
Melissa: The disaster has touched me in ways that I couldn't imagine before and I am not down there first hand, like you are. The human suffering, the desperation and pain....It puts worrying about a new car, a bigger house & more stuff we really don't need in to perspective, shows us that it really doesn't matter. We have all that we REALLY need right here beside us, our family. I can't imagine being one of those mother's that can't find her child...that is too heartbreaking for words.
I liked this...it is sad, yet all of that is so true..
we need to take a step back and be thankful for what we have..but also thankful for what we dont have:)
