Say a prayer....
My heart is breaking today, I am so scared and feel utterly helpless.

My sister is 31 weeks pregnant with her second child, she has Caleb that will be two in December. We have been worried because she has had quite a bit of swelling and was gaining weight at an unusual rate, but wasn't experiencing any ocular disturbances or dizziness. She went to the Dr. this morning and was sent to the hospital. She had gained 6 lbs in two weeks and her blood pressure was thru the roof. Her urine test came back alarmingly high and her blood counts are low. Things do not look good for her right now. They have given her a shot to mature the baby's lungs and are doing some more testing right now.

I want to jump in the van and be in SC right now but I can't. I have tonsillitis or strep, not sure but am going to have to go to the Dr. I can't be around Christina or any of her family due to the fragile state she is in.
Preeclampsia can be very dangerous, I read the potential risks but am choosing to put them out of my head right now. Mom is packing and ready to hit the road when Christina calls.

I know you don't read this very often Christina, but I love you! Sister's are hard to explain to someone that doesn't have one...........growing up you were often my best friend, my biggest pain and always my little sister, thru the years life took us down different paths and there were probably a few years that we didn't understand each other but these last years have brought us to such a special place. I have so many wonderful friends in my life, friends here around me, friends I've known all of my life and friends that I have known for a short time, but you are the best friend and the best sister I could ever imagine having. You once gave me a plaque and it is sitting right here on my desk. It says " God made us sisters, hearts made us friends." God always knows what he is doing and I am so glad he gave me you.

I can't wait to hold your sweet baby girl in my arms. I'm hugging you from afar and know that I'm there holding your hand as you go thru this.

When I was about to go into surgery for 9.5 hours, I know you were all worried b/c things could go bad easily. You sat by my hospital bed holding my hand, laid your head on the pillow with me and we sang Bette Midler's "The Wind Beneath My Wings". You were my strength at that moment and you are forever the wind beneath my wings. I love you little sister!!!

Please say a prayer for her and her family today. May God hold them close and safe in his arms and let her bring a healthy little sweet baby into this world.

I'm not feeling too well, have something nasty going on with my throat and am going to have get an antibiotic I guess. I rarely get sick but I am tired from working and we had an all weekend long soccer tournament this weekend. Friday night the boys spent the night with Grandpa & Grandma. Layne called over about 8 and asked if they could come over. Grandma called Saturday am before I was to leave and go get them to say they were going to mess around all day. Kurt had to work so Lilli, Morgan and I did the soccer thing. Sunday we had to leave at 6:30 to get to the first game adn then had a 4 hour break in between games. I took the kids to the newly remodeled Science Center and they all had so much fun and we had a picnic in Forest Park. It was a great day until almost the end of Morgan's second game that day. She was hit hard while having possession of the ball and went down on her knee. Usually she takes one and gets up, ready to go again. Not this time, she was rolling on the ground crying and you just don't see Morgan cry on the soccer field. I knew that something was not good, they carried her off of the field and had the medic looking at her. I have to tell you, with both teams that Morgan plays on, I have the greatest group of friends. Several of them grabbed Lilli, the stroller and the boys and told me to go to Morgan. By the time we had Morgan loaded on the golf cart, they had the kids loaded, the stroller loaded and the seat removed to put Morgan in. One even followed me to my exit in case we would need anything. We would all do the same for anyone else in our group that is in such a situation. Morgan had a very painful trip home and we got her in the house to let her change before going to the ER in Cape, she straightened out her knee and there was an audible "pop". The pain was instantly relieved. The conclusion seems to be that something in and around her knee cap got knocked out of place causing the unbearable pain and when it was back in place all was well. She has some nasty bruising but has close to full use of her knee again. Thank GOD!

Yesterday we were all tired and just kind of bummed around here. I packed up 7 boxes of clothing, shoes and baby items to send to the hurricane relief effort. I again, encourage you to try to do the same or make a cash donation to the Red Cross. At some point everyone helped me and it was a wonderful opportunity to talk with the kids about how blessed they are. Layne was visibly disturbed by what was going on in the hurricane ravaged areas. He went into the house and picked a few of his toys to donate. I now have to find a church that is taking donations down. I know that there are several in Cape so it is a matter of finding one that has room.

DH's parents took us out to eat last night for our anniversary and for Morgan's b-day. We had a nice time, I just wasn't feeling too well.
Grandpa told the waitress that it was Morgan's birthday this week and a little later we hear Happy Birthday being played thru out the place over the speakers. The waitress comes up with an icecream cone that has a candle and is surrounded by cakes. She then brings Morgan a pretty hair scrunchie made out of beautiful asian fabrics. We were at a Chinese place in Cape. Lillianne is an absolute nut over chicken fried rice, she couldn't get enough and would steal it from Kurt and my plate.

All in all, it was a pretty good weekend, I am hoping that I can fight this sicky stuff off b/c I just have way too much to do. One of my friends is going to be helping me write meta tags for my business and she does PR for a living. She had the idea to create press releases to send to local papers in the region and so forth. Great idea, that one would have gotten by me! It's been a long year in the making but I am really proud of how this business has turned out. Over the course of the last year, I have learned far more that I ever thought I would know about web design and e-commerce, I am sure that it will be a learning process thru out but things are going better than I could have imagined and I am having fun! The best part is the fact that I am able to be here with the Princess everyday. Kurt told me how proud of me he was last night, he always tells me I am a good mother and the best wife he could hope for but this is a venture that I really have put soooo much of myself into, it has been fun and frigtening all at the same time. I love you Kurt for believing in me and helping me stay the course even when I was getting tired and discouraged!
