The Pressure
After talking about New Year's Resolutions yesterday in my post, I have been a bit unsettled. If one was to have been following me around today, they might have thought me a bit disturbed as I was muttering resolutions to no one in particular.

There is a pressure here.........have you felt it? When the clock strikes midnight bidding adieu to the old year and the ball falls in Times Square to the cheers of revelers, one finds oneself faced with the blank slate that is the New Year. A pristine landscape waiting to be covered with our hopes, dreams and accomplishments with each passing month.

What is the pressure? It is the pressure to make each year better than the last, more fullfilling and rewarding and to make those impossible dreams a reality.

I'm reminded of the suburban housewife I saw on TV a couple of months back. Years ago she created a "to do" list for herself. A list of her dream accomplishments and one by one, even as a mother to young children she is bringing these dreams to fruition. She is now a 40ish, to die for in shape, professional football cheerleader. Cross that one off the list and she's moving on to mountain climbing.

I'm not that ambitious by any means, this Momma will not be donning a tiny skirt, baring my midriff and waving pom poms on any football field, but I do have a burning desire to create my list and live my dreams. I am sure that if I had made that list when I was 18, quite a few things would now be crossed off as my life has been full of blessings and wonderful experiences but I am driven to more, to take more risks (though they may be small) and live a little more in the moment, like there might not be a tomorrow. As Tim McGraw croons, to "Live Like You Were Dyin' !"

I resolve not to leave it till tomorrow, to live in the moment and to dream even bigger. I challenge you to make your lists and start crossing things off. Live it like it is your last!

Today I am thankful for:
1. Snuggle time this morning with Lillianne
2. I was able to take down most of the inside Christmas today
3. A house that is miraculously staying clean...oh wait, that is not a miracle....that's because I have OCD and can't quit dusting and sweeping! LOL
4. Fuzzy socks.....I'm still enamored by them
5. Spontaneous toddler hugs.............

Spontaneous toddler hugs are the best. My niece gives them, sometimes. They're just great, aren't they?

Brings a smile all the time.

Good day to you!
