Vehicular Suicide
Friday...............thank God! What a fun week it's been around here.

My grocery getter, soccer mobile mini van has attempted vehicular suicide ............obnoxious of it to try something like that right after Christmas wasn't it.

Little did it know that I was not yet keen on another car payment and love it enough to have handy hubby breathe new life into it. I have not yet fallen in love with another vehicle that has all of the options that mine has or that everyone and their brother are not already driving, other than the Toyota Sequoia that guzzles gas but looks really HOT. The Toyota is out unless gas prices take a dive, I simply spend too much time on the road to be able to justify that kind of $$$ in gas, but this onery vehicle is going to go at least another year. It can then go on to a peaceful, kid and crumb free existance but until then, it's going to have to buck up and deal with it!

Handy hubby has determined that it is "only" a head gasket and can be resolved by throwing a little cash at it and we should be good to go.

Morgan had an indoor soccer tournament that took up both Saturday and Sunday last weekend. Morgan scored the only goal in the second game on Saturday, she was very excited about that. They ended up taking first place in the tournament again this year and we got in some shopping timeand dinner out between the games. Fun stuff!

Saturday night we went to an "after holdiay" get together at a friend's home with about 14 other couples. They had planned a fish fry and we all brought side dishes. It was a great time with a lot of good food and conversation. Handy Hubby played pool with some of his buddies and they had us all laughing so hard, the last time Kurt played pool was when he and I were in the Smokies. There was a pool table in our cabin but I was not a lot of competition. Apparantly, once he warmed up, he could actually play! LOL It turns out that when he was in college, he and his roommates played a lot of pool.

Lillianne and I are having a blast spending our days playing baby dolls and kitchen, she is just so fun and plays the little Mommy with her babies. She got a new little high chair, a mini graco, this last weekend and spent the first day treating it as a stroller, trying to push it thru the house. I've finally convinced her that it stays put in her room and she can push her strollers or her little Dirt Devil if she is in to mobile play.

I'm getting a few hours of work in each day, too, so things are looking productive in the new year.

It's a cold, dreary, snuggle up kind of day so I think I'm going to go curl up with a good book while Lillianne is napping. Stay warm and have a great weekend!

Today I am thankful for:
1. Having a Handy Hubby
2. A warm fire
3. A good book
4. Play time with Lillianne
5. Clarity.............

I've missed you!!!!! I think I'm finally in the swing of things and back to the real world. The vacation was FABULOUS!

I'll chitchat with you more about it later. I'm pretending to listen to my hubby talk about football.
