Finally....I have slept and it feels glorious. Now only if I could do it around the clock for a couple of days, I might be caught up.
Yesterday was a little bit better day for Mom. The guy that does our hair came out to Mom's for the day to make us all beautiful! :) Christina got a cut and a perm, it looks like she has a ton of hair now while Mom, Morgan, Caleb and I all got cut and styled. Mom called it our "spa day", it provided a little bit of distraction for her. Sunday she and Morgan went shopping and I know that was a distraction as Morgan came home with bags of clothes.....I told her that I want to be the Granddaughter LOL Morgan told MeMaw that she really didn't need anything b/c she and I had just gone shopping before she went to Florida but I think Mom's goal is to spoil the kids rotten. They had fun and Morgan said Mom enjoyed their time and was smiling so it's all worth it in the end.
We got the kids open houses for school out of the way, I can't believe that it is time to go back already. Evan and Layne both love their teachers and are excited to find that some of their friends are in their classes. Layne's classroom is amazing, there is one computer to each two children that sits between the two desks. The emints program that they will be using in the classroom sounds wonderful and challenges the individual student. He is really excited about the upcoming year. Middle school was pure chaos when we stopped there for Morgan to unload her back pack. I can't get over how much some of these kids have grown up over the summer, including my daughter. I can't believe that she is in the 8th grade, next year is high school. That makes me sad..... It seems like just a few years ago that she would come in to our bedroom almost every night and tell us that she didn't want to grow up, that she didn't want to leave us. Last year she came home from school and said that they were talking in class about becoming 18 and leaving home. Morgan said she asked the teacher if they have to leave home at 18 and the teacher said that most kids want to leave home....Morgan said that she didn't want to and when she got home asked me if she had to. LOL I told her she was welcome to stay home as long as she wanted to but assured her that there was probably going to be a day when she would want to get married, she said she doubted it! LOL I should have gotten her to write that one down!
Lillianne is cutting teeth....it's LOVELY! Last night nothing was right, she wanted a bath but she didn't want a bath, she wanted her cup but didn't want her cup.....it lasted for hours. A dose of tylenol seemed to calm her down and let her rest. She woke up happy this morning, I'm hoping that lasts.
There is lots to do to get the kids ready for school in the morning, 6:15 is going to come early for them. I'm not looking forward to waking up Ev, it isn't going to be pretty....he simply is NOT a morning person.
I have a NESCO cooker full of apple butter that I have to get into jars, better get busy.

Staying busy really does keep your mind in a different realm. School doesn't start here until Sept 5th. Ugh..lol. So happy back to school time. I'm thinking of you.
