Tubs, four year plans and pigs in a blanket
If ever there was a day or time that I doubted my sanity, it would have been this past Saturday.

Kurt and I were chatting over breakfast about what we were planning to do with the house, what updates we were hoping to make and designing the new master closet. Our intentions have always been to do some master bath remodeling and we've tossed around quite a few ideas. We nixed the bigger ones because we just simply don't plan on being in this house too much longer. (we did say that 9 years ago when we bought it but we won't go there, we simply have gotten pretty comfortable and the whole planning, building, contruction thing causes me to hyperventilate and have anxiety attacks! LOL) We were really brainstorming, coming up with fantastic ideas when we were struck by what we both thought was the best solution for the space and for our time table. The series of events that followed this brainstorming/planning session is what has left me reeling. At that very moment, we decided to get ready and head to Lowes and Home Depot, no big deal right? LOL By ten that night we had already spent close to a grand and had begun ripping out the bathtub. YIKES! Sunday saw us making yet another trip to Lowes and yet another today. Today's trip alone lightened the pocket book by another grand but I think.....think....that we are almost done spending and ready to start putting this room together. I'm absolutely in love with my new vanity. Morgan wouldn't believe us that it was a vanity complete with sink, even though it was sporting a lovely marble top. It is an antique cherry furniture type piece with drawers/cabinets and the claw foot base. At first glance it would appear to be a piece of furniture but it is indeed a vanity. LOL I don't think she will believe us until it is installed and working. Why is this insane? If you do know my husband, you know that there are several things in life that he is pretty set in his ways on. He will mull a plan or decision over for EVER (drives me nuts)before moving forward on it and he is TIGHT with money. He totally stepped out of character on this whole bathroom thing. He jumped right into it and hasn't even mumbled (grumbled) about the money. In fact, he is the one that has upgraded some of my choices. I'm loving it! To his credit, I say that he is tight with money, but he is a great and generous gift giver, I am lucky. He is just adament that we be agressive about planning and saving for our retirement and future and that is a good thing. (even if it sometimes is painful! LOL)

Hopefully before too long, I'll be able to post some pictures of the new bath! I'm so excited that we moved forward with it. I'm now motivated to start tearing out the kitchen counter tops! (HATE.HATE.HATE laminate!) LOL

Speaking of planning for the future.....We had to sit down with Morgan last night and do a four year curriculum outline for high school. Pardon me but HOW IN THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?????? We were just commenting on the cute stuff Morgan did at Lillianne's age and now she is just a little over 4 years away from college. This from the girl who asked her teacher last year if you HAD to leave home when you graduated, her teacher laughed and said most kids are ready to. She didn't realize that she was talking to the little girl who would wake us every now and then in the middle of the night to tell us that she wasn't ever going to leave home. Think I can still convince her that that is a good idea? :) Four more years is just simply not long enough! It reminds me of the movie "Click". I don't want to fast forward and miss any parts of my life but I sure would like to hit pause and enjoy these days with the kids for much longer than we get to.

Have you ever seen a guniea pig in a baby doll stroller wrapped in a baby doll blanket? NO? Well you will if you visit our house! The Princess has taken to wrapping up the pigs and strapping them int0 her doll stroller, pushing them thru the house while she is wearing nothing but her training pants, her tiara, necklace and rubber yellow dishwashing gloves (on her feet....with the fingers wiggling around like crazy long toes). I...kid...you..not!

It is never dull here!
