Long time gone
I've become a bad blogger....

I'm cyclic in my love affair with writing. There are times that the thoughts, feelings and emotions are so many that the words flow and I could write pages and then there are the droughts, the times that no words come and I despise the process of wrting. I've been experiencing the later lately. Number one reason I don't make my living writing! LOL

It's been a busy couple of months. We have the bathroom finished for the most part. I still have to decide on wallpaper, I haven't yet found something that I love. Midway we were wondering what exactly was wrong with the bathroom that we had just torn out. LOL BUT, we do love the new one.

Several weeks ago we took an impromptu trip to Dallas. Great Fun! We got to see Dealey Plaza and the Texas School Book Depository, the site of Kennedy's assasination. Many years have passed since that fateful day but it is still a moving experience. Downtown Dallas is fabulous, great places to eat and fun places to see. We visited the Dallas Aquarium, hard to believe that this exits in the middle of a city, you feel as if you have been transported to the rain forest, complete with a several story waterfall the moment you walk in. Best part, you can get frozen margaritas at the concession stand. Serious margaritas, not fake flavored ones.....Have I told yet that I LOVE DALLAS! Next stop on our trip was Fort Worth where we saw the Texas Motor Speedway, spent several hours at the Fort Worth Stockyards where we got to see a live Texas Longhorn cattle drive down the brick streets of Old Fort Worth, complete with authentic cowboys. We had lunch at one of the restaraunts in the Old Stock Yard buildings, shopped and Kurt rode a mechanical bull. TOO FUNNY! I have it on video from my camera but I fear major retribution if I would post it. LOL Oh so tempting....:) We finished off our Fort Worth leg of the journey at the Fort Worth Zoo. It has been rated just below the San Diego Zoo as the best in the nation and it was awesome. We finished up the trip with a stop in Oklahoma City at the national museum commemorating the Oklahoma City bombing. I wasn't prepared for the flood of emotion that rolled over me when we pulled up. What a beautiful memorial to those that lost their lives on that hateful, ugly day. In the serenity that is the memorial and the reflection pool, walking beside the empty memorial chairs, I felt the spirits of all those that were gone and at the memorial wall/fence, I felt the pain and sadness . The fence has become a makeshift memorial to those that were lost. Small momentos cover the fence, I'll have to post my pictures when I can get them downloaded but especially moving was the tribute to the two little boys that the one Mom lost that day. Their pictures are surrounded by small tokens of love and memory...a pacifier, baby shoes, toddler momentos....It was just too much for me as a visitor to the memorial, I can't imagine how that mother survived it all.
In all it was a great little get away, took care of a few business matters and got to see places that we had never been.

It's hard to believe that soccer starts this weekend. Morgan has yet again decided to play rec soccer along with her select traveling soccer. Both start right away but it just seems too cold! I guess spring is on the way. We've already been talking about what needs to be done to get the boat and jet skis ready for summer. I feel like we just put them away but I'm not going to complain about it getting warmer. I hate this cold weather! When we were in Dallas, it reached 80 degrees...blissful. Only to arrive back in old MO to 32, gotta love it!

I'm in need of sleep and diet coke. Doesn't seem to be much chance of me getting to go back to sleep so I'm off to find my coke.
