It looks like I'm not going to get much better at posting, I have the best of intentions but thankfully I'm just so busy.
Thankfully because I have the kids healthy and busy and the store is healthy and busy.
The kiddos just got out of school for summer break, this year seems to have flown by. I guess because we have all just had so much on our plate, it has been an eventful year to say the least. the kids are looking forward to relaxing, spending time at the lake and various camps. Miss Morgan has six weeks of physical therapy ahead for her achilles tendon but the Dr. said that it won't limit her ability to play volleyball in the fall and soccer next year. Thankfully it wasn't worse than what it was and apparantly, it is rather common injury in soccer players. She now has a lovely hot pink cast for a souvenier. They actually gave the thing back to her...UGH
The store is a blessing....it is just so unreal how things have unfolded and God has blessed me and my family. I love watching all of the years of planning come to fruition and it is an amazing testament to what the bible teaches us. Be still and let God... Once I finally turned the reigns over to him and quit trying to control his plans, the doors began to open and things began to evolve into what is now The Lily Pad. One would think that the time that has had to go into the store would have in ways caused our family to drift but actually is the exact opposite. Everyone has contributed and shares in the excitement of what we have created. I don't know how I would have done it without their support, love and encouragement. I love that they are all so proud of me and the store. Layne just may have a future in advertising and marketing, he is a mini account exec for The Lily Pad. LOL He will tell anyone and everyone that will listen.
We all still sit down to dinner everynight, the dinner hour has just gotten pushed back a bit so we haven't had to sacrifice that time together. I love the fact that my husband now truly understands the mystery that is the ever present laundry and dish pile. I had to laugh (a bit loudly) when he announced his frustration that he had just done laundry but there was more in the laundry room to be done. HELLO!!!!!!! Just a peek into my world, sweetie:) He's fantastic though, helps get dinner finished after I start it before I leave for the day, picks up the slack wherever needed and he got me a COACH bag for Mother's Day. I had mentioned that I liked it and he got it without me having a clue. He definately won brownie points on that one. Love him....thank God every day for him!
The only regret that I have is that I didn't go ahead and sign a letter of intent for the space next to me. I really could have used it but fear of the unknown and how things would go kept me from doing it. Such is life, where one door closes, another opens.
We were able to take the boat over to the lake last weekend and even got a few trips out on it. It was awesome, there is just something about being out on the lake with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair. It was like we all took a big sigh of relief when we hit the open water, like "ok, we can relax now". LOL Looking forward to spending time over there this summer, especially now that I know I can hire someone to help out with the store. I just don't look forward to that process. I've been a retail manager before and know how hard it is to find a really great employee, especially one that really cares about your business. UGH
It's taken me days to write this so it will probably be days before another one gets posted. LOL Thanks to my blogger friends who leave comments and e-mail me wondering where I am. I'm here...somewhere!
Hope you all have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend. I'm just going to enjoy my family :)
