update
Seriously it has been over a month since I have taken the time to blog....I can't believe how fast time seems to be flying by.

This post will just have to be a brief recap of the last month or so and hopefully I will get back to blogging regularly. I do tend to blog on my other site more often.....but I didn't want to let this one completely go.

Kiddos are back in school. Hard to believe that I had one start middle school and another start high school this year, along with a first time preschooler. Morgan loves high school, she says that it is even better than the best parts of middle school. It is funny to see how their class divided up once they weren't all together all of the time but she has a lot of great new friends, gets along spectacularly with many of the upper classman and has been invited shopping. Good sign or acceptance! LOL

Layne loves middle school, the little changes in how things done make such a difference. I can tell that he feels more "grown up".

Lillianne began her first year of preschool at M&M Kids. One of our friends works there and the moment that we announced our pregnancy, she put "baby F" on the waiting list. I am so glad that she did. Lillianne loves going to her school, loves playing with her friends and adores all of her teachers. Their program is amazing and she is learning so much, like a little sponge.

We were able to enjoy several more weekends at the lake thru the months of July and August, hope to get over there one more time before it gets cold. We were able to take several sets of friends with us this summer and really enjoyed that. Lots of good food, laughter and conversation.

Morgan chose not to try out for volleyball. She is still being really cautious with her tendon and decided she would baby it while training for soccer. She has a pretty good course load this semester, too so she wanted to concentrate on her grades. Can't argue with her being responsibile. She turned 15 and will hopefully be testing this next week for her permit. I am excited and terrified all at the same time. Kurt will get the honor of teaching her how to drive safely and correctly. It kind of falls into the category of scary or gross things that Dad gets to do. Of course it isn't gross but it definately falls into the scary category. :) Of course picking out her car is consuming much of her day dreaming time. While I agreed with her that she would look really cute in the little Beemer convertible, really cute.....it ain't happening if Mommy doesn't have one, too! Moving on the the Chevy's....lol

Evan is doing really, really well with his schooling, too. He is such a little math whiz and adores Science. While I tolerated these classes they were never on my list of favorites, I am glad that he enjoys them so much though. He loves being outside, loves animals and critters and all things boy. He is so much his father's son, he looks so much like his Daddy.

Layne is playing football. He likes it and is busy learning his plays. While I like the sport well enough I have to roll my eyes at some of the adults involved as parents and coaches. Leave your "could have been" careers back in your own high school days and let these guys learn and be their own players. Geez... Testosterone and a piece of pigskin make some men morons.

The store continues to grow and do well. God has truly blessed me, it has been a true lesson in Be Still and Let God. He continues to open doors for me now that I have let Him take the reigns. Mom was helping me mark down summer items even more before Labor Day weekend and get some fall stuff out. We were frustrated needing space and needing to get the remaining summer stuff out of the store, talking of sales and then remembered that DUH, she lived on hwy 61 where they were having a 61 mile long yard sale with individual yard sales, vendors and businesses participating. Wednesday we started organizing and moved the summer clearance stuff to her house for the sale starting on Friday. I had 500 flyers with store information and a coupon incentive printed on it made Thursday night and I am completely bowled over at the whole event. I was able to get rid of well over 60% of my remaining summer stuff, make some money for my consignors and came $200 shy of paying my months expenses in just two days. Better than all of that.....I got a flyer and coupon in the hands of 500 potential consignors and customers, serious advertising that cost next to nothing. It paid off, I have had 15 new consignors since Labor Day and tons of new customers. I was able to reach folks from miles around that normally wouldn't have been touched by my advertising.

I'm hiring my internet person tonight or tommorow. I've got the details all lined out and just need to get it all finalized. I've got an afterschool/weekend part timer and think that I have decided on my other part timer. It is hard to trust someone else with your "baby". I've got to get the other computer bought and in store for the back room, program controls so it doesn't allow for internet surfing while working. I don't intend to pay people to play on the internet while they are supposed to be working. I hear from other other business owners and retailers that this is a huge problem for some of them. I will nip it before it even gets started. Too much going on and really, too little time. I still love what I do and can't imagine not doing it. :)

Kurt and I celebrated our anniversary last Sunday, sort of... I ended up sick and didn't feel like doing anything so we are planning to do something special when we can get away. I can't believe that it has been 12 years, amazing. But then again, I can't really remember a time in my life when I didn't know and love him. Every now and then, about once a year around our anniversary I will pull out our wedding video and it always makes me cry. Do I love him as much as I did that day? You bet I do, I love him more. I love the fact that when I'm sick, he will just hold me without having to be asked, I love the fact that he will stop what he is doing to just call me and let me know he is thinking of me, I love the fact that he takes his time to help and teach our children, I love his strong spirit and convictions. Happy Anniversary Kurtis!

Well, there is a brief synopsis of our last month and a half. Nothing spectacular but it's my life and I feel blessed.

Happy Anniversaray. I'm so glad things have gotten cleared out of the store. You're amazing. I'm thinking of you. I hope you're hanging in and smiling.
