I couldn't sleep, all is quiet in my house save for a snoring puppy and I am enjoying the peacefulness. I've been watching the elections online and have an obsessed need to see that last little red check get delegated to the victorious candidate in the Texas Caucus before I can rest.
I'm sick of ice, I'm sick of snow and I am ever so sick of this freaking frigid air. I can honestly say that I am 100% ready for spring and summer. Spring forward already, even if I have to sacrifice an hour of my beloved sleep.
In an effort to bring on the warmer weather we have started making plans to get the boat ready for use, the jet skis are going to be serviced in anticipation of FUN and I've begun a fitness/weightloss challenge with my Mom's group. That last part sounds like a hell of a lot of fun, doesn't it. LOL Seriously it isn't so bad, I really just want to lose 5 - 10 lbs in anticipation of swimsuit season so I really won't be killing myself. I have put the dear old treadmill into full time service and cuss it regularly. LOUDLY.... Much better than the year I bought Tae Bo tapes and thought that would be a good idea. Um....not a good idea, I think I created a few new ugly words that year. The only real kink in the plan has been the arrival of Girl Scout cookies at my house. There is a real gravitational pull emitting from those thin mint boxes. I will be rewarding myself at the end of the torture, um challenge with a cute new bikini from VS. Right now I am really liking this one with the matching cover up skirt and cute little flip flops. That is some real motivation :)
I know it's been eons since my last post so a brief recap may be in order:
The kids are doing great, school is going well for each of them. Morgan is beginning her first year of high school soccer and we are all looking forward to that. Layne has become a full fledged boy scout and participated in his first "older" boy campout. He LOVES it and is looking forward to his next trip. Evan looks forward to the day that they will be in the same troop when he gets older so that they can camp out together. He is doing amazingly well with his school work, he is such a little sponge. Sometimes I think that he absorbs too much information. I asked him if he wanted eggs for breakfast the other morning and he said that he had already had them that week. No big deal but his reasoning? Eggs can cause high cholesterol....he is eight. Bless his heart.
Lillianne is still loving preschool and her friends and is Evan's little shadow when they are together. She is such a walking contradiction. She is obsessed with all things princess/ballerina and yet can name almost every Pokemon charater from Ev's movies and games. Nothing like being well rounded, every girl should know her Pokemon.
Kurt and I are both staying busy with work. He has been working on a special project since early fall and for me the store is an ever evolving project. We are busy but it is a nice feeling to both be happy and content where we are in our respective careers.
Please say a prayer for my sister. She is expecting her third child and had a rough time with her last.
I'm going to ressurect the "Today I am thankful for..." portion of my blog. I think it is so very important to remember our blessings and be thankful for them everyday. It is too easy to get caught up in the woe is me part of life and forget the goodness that is already there. So with that ( and no last red check mark on CNN) I'll say goodnight. I will try to do better at blogging. I miss it.
Today I am thankful for:
1. The promise of Spring, a time of growth and new beginnings.
2. Moments alone with the man who loves me.
3. Creative, smart, funny, talented and loving kids.
4. Being loved by a Boxer, the devotion is unmatched.
5. Grace
